About the Library Director

Meet Sue Meyer, our library director.

Sue is originally from Cedar Falls, IA, where she went to school and attended the University of Northern Iowa.  She has lived in rural New Hartford for over thirty years now.  She is married and has one daughter, three stepchildren and eight wonderful grandchildren.  After retiring from CUNA Mutual in Waverly, she decided she would like to help out at the town library a couple days a week.  After Valerie Ballhagen, the former library director left, she agreed to take the director position.

Her hobbies are raising bantam chickens, fishing, sports, flower gardening, and READING.  The ability to pick up a book and be taken away to another place were the story enfolds, is a beautiful thing.  There are so many books to be read and so little time!
